Overview This position has a direct and material impact to the overall profitability of the airline operation. This position is responsible for building the aircraft schedule through the optimization of internal and external aircraft assets with booked trips in a manner that maximizes flight profitability. The position understands the cost and revenue associated with each flight and matches available aircraft from the controlled managed and affiliate fleets with customer demand implementing a sustainable schedule that minimizes repositioning costs matches flight requirements with mission capable aircraft and meets safety and customer service standards. The position also analyzes and approves potential charter trips through pricing and scheduling analysis and partners with the sales team in securing profitable charter sales through effective communication and collaboration. Responsibilities Execute efficient and effective optimization of the available fleet using internal and external aircraft resources in accordance with all applicable regulations and company policies and in coordination with Flight Control Client Services Maintenance Crew Scheduling and Owner Services Continually track new client bookings and revise aircraft schedule through re-optimization as new trips book Problem-solve for required aircraft changes due to irregular operations (maintenance crew or weather issues) with a combined focus on customer satisfaction and profitability Understand team Key Performance Indicators (rate per hour utilization efficiency managed aircraft margin and affiliate margin) and how aircraft scheduling decisions impact each metric Understand forecasted fleet availability versus customer demand and identify trips that can be outsourced to affiliates to open up fleet availability when required Outsource trips to affiliate operators by using tools to source affiliate aircraft analyze offers for profitability ensure affiliate operators and aircraft meet DPJ standards negotiate affiliate pricing make decisions on outsourcing options and execute contracts with affiliates Analyze and approve/deny wholesale and retail charter quotes to ensure adequate profit margin will be met factoring in revenue (pricing) reposition costs and adequate fleet positioning/availability Collaborate with Charter Salespeople on pricing of charter quotes and assist in finding aircraft solutions to help close charter deals Communicate with sales team regarding aircraft availability on a day to day basis to stimulate growth in charter sales or limit sales during projected peaks in Jet Card flying Understand aircraft availability and liaise with other OCC departments to ensure optimal fleet availability Comply with risk management procedures as established by the Company Perform other duties and/or special projects or events as assigned by the Manager - Schedule Optimization or higher authority Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required A bachelors degree in Business or Aviation or equivalent experience preferred Candidates must have a passion for solving puzzle-like scenarios and a willingness to accept change and start from scratch on a routine basis Mathematical skills to compute trip revenue cost margin/margin percentage and rate per hour with ability to compare multiple "what-if" scenarios Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment Ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems Experience in training personnel preferred Knowledge of business jet performance capabilities preferred Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations including crew flight and duty limitations preferred The ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external customers 2 years FAR part 135 experience preferred Excellent written and oral communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel Able to work a flexible schedule which could include nights weekends and holidays. Demonstrate a high level of self-motivation and a willingness to continually learn.
