These values - integrity patient-centered respect accountability and compassion - must guide what we do as individuals and professionals every day.Responsible for facilitating and monitoring all aspects of the DOT/FAA drug and alcohol program for Sikorsky Aircraft Company. Regulatory compliance organized and completed record keeping and timely reporting are critical for the success of this program. Proper execution of the FAA program contributes to the continued success and overall safety of the corporation and its employees. Any negative findings or violations within this program can result in costly fines to the company and can adversely affect Sikorskys ability to fly helicopters. Also responsible for all medical duties performed within his/her scope of practice. This person assists RNs APRNs PAs and MDs in the delivery of quality care for work related and non- work related illnesses or injuries. Additionally the lead medical assistant will perform phlebotomy services deliver patient education perform and/or assist with various exams and support clinical staff wherever possible. Miscellaneous duties include restocking exam rooms covering reception desk answering phones greeting customers and opening and closing the department on a daily basis.EEO/AA/Disability/VeteranResponsibilities 1. DOT/FAA Drug and Alcohol Program Coordinator 1.1. Arrange for and perform timely drug and/or alcohol testing of employees on three different shifts at three different locations 1.2. Monitor employees in follow up programs. 1.3. Maintain files and documentation as required by FAA to guarantee successful periodic FAA audits. 1.4. Meet with consultant to assure compliance with all aspects of FAA program. 1.5. Monitor inventory and order supplies necessary for program delivery. Revise forms as needed. 1.6. Assure that necessary equipment is calibrated and recertified when needed 1.7. Train coworkers in all aspects of FAA drug and alcohol testing 1.8. Communicate necessary program changes and updates to appropriate personnel. 1.9. Act as ongoing department reference for random testing and follow up 1.10. Establish follow up program testing for any positive test results. Prepare annual Management Information System report as required by the FAA: Manage FAA pre-employment process: Maintain current list of dates employees are cleared to perform safety-sensitive work and dates they are removed from this category. Notify and test employees when identified. Deliver test results to DER. 2. Quest Laboratories Department Liaison 2.1. Accommodate patient requests by obtaining lab results when requested. This provides value-added service to our customers 2.2. Prepare monthly report for Medical Director showing lab activity and company savings. Data is collected on a daily basis in order to create this report. 2.3. Correspond with Quest customer service to resolve any patient issues. 2.4. Handle and resolve phlebotomy-related questions for coworkers. 3. Patient Care 3.1. Provide acute care for work related and non-work related illnesses and injuries. 3.2. Perform phlebotomy services and ancillary testing. 3.3. Perform/assist with exams procedures and treatments for: Power industrial vehicle exams Firefighter exams Ground-ops exams Inspector?s vision exams Coin tap hearing tests Hearing conservation testing and training Return to work process Chromium and cadmium surveillance CDL license renewal exams 3.4. Assist with minor surgical procedures (i.e. suturing) 3.5. Assist with first aid treatment for injured employees (i.e. wound care) 3.6. Deliver patient education for health-related issues 3.7. Participate in health promotion (health fairs) 3.8. Record information in electronic medical records 3.9. Measure and monitor patient?s vital signs 3.10. Perform EKG?s. 4. Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned. QualificationsEDUCATIONHigh School Graduate. Graduate of accredited Medical Assisting ProgramEXPERIENCEMinimum 2 years relevant experienceLICENSURECertified Medical AssistantSPECIAL SKILLSBroad knowledge of: Medical terminology Anatomy Physiology Pathology Blood borne pathogens Universal precautions. Proficient computer skills.
