As the FAA Quality Compliance Manager you will take charge of the department that inspects purchased parts assemblies accessories and materials for conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments. You will also inspect and measure items for dimensional accuracy fit alignment and functional operation according to blueprints parts manuals company or military standards FAA and other specifications using exact instruments and devices. What youll do on a typical day:Use a variety of inspection equipment to inspect purchased parts and documentation upon receipt by comparing to applicable drawings/specifications and inspection plan requirementsPerform layout inspections on CMMsEnsure gauge calibration prior to each useRecord inspection results close inspection lots and post accepted and rejected material to applicable storage locationsProcess nonconforming material per site procedures; initiate quality notifications segregate nonconforming material post material to PRBRead blueprints drawings tools and gauges; access blueprints and specifications from the online systemWhat you need to succeed at XPO:At a minimum youll need:Bachelors degree preferably in Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience5 years of Compliance Quality Manager in an FAA environment experience; 5 years of hands-on measuring components to drawing specs experienceDemonstrated and deep understanding of all skills associated with the Inspector III receiving roleIndustry level experience as Quality Inspector/Technician; documentation a requirementExperience working in an ISO-9001 environment and the ability to initiate the corrective action process for receivablesConfirmed ability to use digital dial and Vernier calipers inside and outside micrometers depth gauges and height gauges; ability to perform inspection work with minimal supervisionAbility to interpret blueprints to ensure product conformance of mechanical optical and electrical components prior to company stockroom delivery; ability to read and understand drawings and related quality proceduresBasic computer skills (MS Word and Excel)Itd be great if you also have:Masters degree in Engineering Aircraft MaintenanceCMI (Certified Mechanical Inspector) and CQT (Certified Quality Technician)CMM Operating ExperienceKnowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)Good knowledge of basic shop math; addition subtraction algebra and geometry; knowledge of good gauging practicesExperience using hand tools and precision measuring equipment (micrometer)Bilingual Spanish/English skillsBe part of something big.XPO provides cutting-edge supply chain solutions to the worlds most successful companies including Disney Pepsi LOr al Toyota and many others.
