What is the same is that each day will bring new experiences and opportunities for growth.<br> <br><strong>You will be ESSENTIAL to many FUNCTIONS including:</strong><br> </p><ul> <li>Performing general mechanical tasks on aircraft and related systems.</li> <li>Removal and installation of panels and components</li> <li>Troubleshooting and problem-solving aircraft system/component issues</li> <li>De-fueling aircraft</li> <li>Engine removal/installations</li> <li>Operating ground support equipment</li> <li>Inspection and evaluation of the aircraft and components</li> <li>Aircraft movement and assistance in performance runs/ taxiing</li> <li>Maintenance and repair of shop facility equipment and tooling</li> <li>Immediately notify the Lead Mechanic of any problem areas such as parts materials workmanship or airworthiness issues.</li> <li>Provides the Lead Mechanic with a detailed report of work progression and open items to be included in the shift turnover log</li> <li>Proper tagging of Aircraft components parts and panels appropriately stored including racks by aircraft.</li> <li>Basic computer skills to be able to navigate electronic training manuals and maintenance data bases</li> <li>Willing and able to work rotating shifts including nights holidays weekends and days off.</li> <li>Effectively and clearly communicate (i.e. speak write read) in English</li> <li>Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.</li> </ul> <br><strong>What youll need to bring with you:</strong><br><br><strong>Your Education</strong>: <br>A High school diploma or equivalent and Airframe and Powerplant License are required. A valid drivers license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal<br> <br><strong>Your Initiative:</strong> <br>Were looking for team players who are self-motivated and able to perform in a fast-paced environment where working under specific deadlines and time constraints will be common.<br> <br><strong>Your Sense of Responsibility:</strong> <br>Attend work every day as scheduled to include overtime and weekend assignments. <br>Notify supervisor in advance of shift starting if unable to work. <br>Must have reliable transportation to get to work each and every day. <br>Perform all work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines. <br>Follow all company and safety rules during performance of duties. <br>Maintain customer-oriented work habits.<br> <br><strong>Other particulars:</strong><br><br><strong>Physical Requirements</strong> <br>Lifts 70 lbs. <br>Routine walking bending and squatting or sitting. <br>Routine or repetitive physical motion with arms and hands. <br>Work on elevated platforms (up to 40 ft. in the air) using fall protection safety gear <br>Work in small restricted areas <br>Standing for long periods of time.<br> <br><strong>Mental Requirements</strong> <br>Understanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines. <br>Troubleshoot or evaluate system operation. <br>Work with others in a professional manner.<br> <br><strong>Supervision</strong> <br>Work under supervision of assigned Team Leader and Director of Maintenance. <br>May be directed to supervise other technicians in some capacity.<br> <br><strong>Working Conditions</strong> <br>Work is performed in a hangar environment subject to extreme temperature variations from very cold to very hot. <br>Work outside during aircraft runs will occur. <br>Varied positions in and around the aircraft.<br> <br><strong>Equipment Used</strong> <br>Personal hand tools supplied by the mechanic. <br>Pneumatic hydraulic and electrical equipment. <br>Jacks stands lifts and other support devices. <br>Tugs power carts and other engine powered equipment. <br><br><strong>Company Description:</strong> <br><br>With over 78 years of industry experience West Star Aviation stands as a leading independent Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) provider.
