What you can expect as a Paint Technician at DAS Aviation:
As Paint Technician each day will bring new experiences and opportunities for growth. You will need to have a basic to advanced knowledge of aircraft refinishing Understanding PDS Sheets and comply with paint procedures and techniques.
You will be ESSENTIAL to many FUNCTIONS including:
- Able to understand and comprehend PDS Sheets mix ratios for all materials that will be used.
- Able to spray Single Stage Basecoat Clearcoat Primer Anti-static and Sealers.
- Understand the functions of a spray gun and how to adjust for different materials that will be used
- Must be able to pass Respirator Fit Test and Medical Eval. (Full face or Half face).
- Maintenance cleaning and repair of shop facilities equipment and tooling when required.
- Safely operate shop equipment such as: Paint Booth Prep deck
- Basic computer skills to be able to navigate electronic training manuals maintenance databases and Color matching paint computer and Color matching camera.
- Effectively and clearly communicate (i.e. speak write read) in English
- Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
- Be able to travel to customers hangars to perform paint work as needed.
What youll need to bring with you:
Your Education:
A High school diploma or equivalent.
A valid drivers license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal but not mandatory.
Your Experience:
Knowledge of Paint processes (Mixing materials Color camera mixing computer Paint gun operation Paint booth operations Prep deck operations Blending of Single Stage and Clearcoat).
Your Initiative:
Were looking for team players who are self-motivated and able to perform in a fast-paced environment where working under specific deadlines and time constraints will be common.
Your Sense of Responsibility:
Attend work every day as scheduled; opportunities to work overtime as workflow permits.
Notify the supervisor in advance of shift starting if unable to work.
Must have reliable transportation to get to work every day.
Perform all work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines.
Follow all company and safety rules during performance of duties.
Maintain customer-oriented work habits.
Other particulars:
Physical Requirements
Lifts 50 lbs.
Routine walking bending and squatting or sitting.
Routine or repetitive physical motion with arms and hands.
Climb ladders and stairs work in small restricted areas.
Standing for long periods of time.
Be able to wear a respirator and PPE for the job function that is required.
Mental Requirements
Understanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines.
Work with others in a professional manner.
Supervision
Work under supervision of assigned Team Leader.
Working ConditionsWork is performed in controlled environments in industrial warehouses.
Some Travel work that may take place in aircraft hangars.
Equipment Used
Personal hand tools Paint guns Mixing computer Prep deck and paint booth.
