This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the DC Army National Guard. MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: You must meet the minimum military rank as specified in this announcement. Please note that exceeding the maximum rank does not automatically qualify you for consideration. Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. The National Guards full-time support program requires that all military technicians are members of the National Guard and are appointed to full-time positions which correspond to their military assignments. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. Minimum Military Rank: E-4/SPC Maximum Military Rank: E-6/SSG Other requirements: For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles candidates must have a valid state drivers license for the state in which they live or are principally employed. For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within One (1) year of appointment. This position is located in the Logistics function of an ARNG Army Aviation Support Facility (AASF). This is an Army National Guard (ARNG) Dual Status Technician position requiring military membership compatible military skill assignment and classification. The purpose of this position is to act as an aircraft mechanic with responsibility for certifying airworthiness and managing the operational readiness of one or more aircraft and proficiency training of supported aviation unit personnel. Responsibilities include detailed technical oversight of individual aircrafts level of mission capabilities and operational readiness IAW Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Code of Federal Regulation (CFR) title 14 Part 43 rules governing the maintenance preventive maintenance rebuilding and alteration of aircraft having a U.S. airworthiness certificate as well as guidelines and projection of maintenance requirements per the UH-72A Program Office to maintain individual aircraft operational readiness ensuring aircraft meet airworthiness compliance as stipulated within the Armys UH-72A Continued Airworthiness Maintenance Plan (CAMP).

Duties
  • Manages monitors or performs overall maintenance within the CAMP and FAA framework servicing inspections and documentation for one or more highly technical high performance UH-72A military aircraft.
  • Requests maintenance services exceeding AASF capabilities or time constraints. Controls and performs work assignments based upon priorities workload availability of UH-72A parts facilities material and personnel.
  • Maintains UH-72A aircraft under FAA and manufacturer guidelines and conducts inspections IAW Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) maintenance publications and special inspection criteria as outlines in FAA OEM and Army maintenance and safety messages.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
