<h5>Work Study Student Associate Industry and Alumni Engagement Aerospace Engineering </h5><p>Hiring Department: Department of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics </p><p>Position Open To: All Applicants </p><p>Weekly Scheduled Hours: 15 </p><p>FLSA Status: Non-Exempt from FLSA </p><p>Earliest Start Date: Immediately </p><p>Position Duration: Expected to Continue Until May 15 2026 </p><p>Location: UT MAIN CAMPUS </p><h5>General Notes </h5><p>As a top-10 engineering school the Cockrell School of Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin has been a global leader in technology innovation and engineering education for over a century. Teaching and research activities take place in the areas of space engineering/science aviation robotics computation mechanics and more. At UT Aerospace where our academic programs rank among the top 10 in the nation the sky is not the limit! </p><h5>Purpose </h5><p>To provide support by helping with stewardship providing social media assistance at outreach events strategizing swag for outreach events and assisting with coordination for development events and engagement activities. This role helps raise visibility of department research and academic activities. </p><h5>Responsibilities </h5><ul> <li>Draft design and prepare stewardship materials including thank you notes. </li><li>Update UT Austin development database. </li><li>Provide social media assistance at outreach events such as Industry Open House. </li><li>Inventory and assistance in strategizing swag for engagement activities. </li><li>Industry engagement research </li><li>Other event or administrative duties as assigned. </li></ul> <h5>Required Qualifications </h5><ul> <li>Strong written and verbal communication skills. </li><li>Interest in event promotion event coordination or communications. </li><li>Excellent time management and organizational skills. </li><li>Strong independent and collaborative work ethic. </li><li>Current UT Austin student enrolled/registered with fees paid for the current semester and in good academic standing. </li><li>Financial aid work-study recipient. </li></ul> <h5>Preferred Qualifications </h5><ul> <li>Familiarity with UT Austins communication channels and event spaces. </li></ul> <h5>Salary Range </h5><p>$15.00 Hourly </p><h5>Working Conditions </h5><ul> <li>May work around standard office conditions </li><li>Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation </li><li>Use of manual dexterity </li><li>Light lifting and moving </li></ul> <h5>Work Shift </h5><ul> <li>Must be available to work 10-15 hours per week. </li><li>Flexible work hours between Monday through Friday 8am-5pm based on students class schedule. </li></ul> <h5>Required Materials </h5><ul> <li>Resume </li><li>3 work references with their contact information; at least one reference should be from a supervisor or academic reference </li><li>Fall semester availability </li><li>Work Study Award letter </li><li>Class Schedule </li> </ul>
