The Airport/AirspaceAnalysis Model and Design department has an ongoing commitment to supportinternational sponsors in the development and evaluation of airport andairspace concepts and in decision-making leading to the implementation ofoperational concepts that are beneficial for air navigation service providersand users. Department staff participate in the flight procedure and airspacedesign activities and modeling and simulation of airport and airspace conceptswith respect to capacity efficiency safety and other performance measures.The individual will be involved in data collection modeling and simulationusing customized computer programs and air traffic simulation models (e.g.AirTOp and TAAM) and post-processing of outputs to derive relevant informationfor sponsors. KeyFunctions: Collect data and develop models including simulation models to derivecapacity efficiency and other metrics that can be used to enable decisions onoperational concepts for airport and airspace systems. Use best practices in data collection model development and related qualitymanagement Derive conclusions from data and clearly and concisely articulate key findingsin both written and verbal form. Apply basic data analysis skills: exploratory data analysis time seriesanalysis distribution fitting linear regression etc. Required A Masters degree in an aviation related field Operations ResearchMathematics/Statistics Computer Science Systems Engineering AeronauticalEngineering other physical science/engineering field or equivalentexperience. Experience in the field of aviation safety is highly desired. Desired Priorairport airspace or air traffic service route/procedure analysis experience. Experiencewith aviation data analysis including with radar data and other data sets(e.g. ASPM ASQP OPSNET etc.). Experience with data analysis and scriptingroutines such as Python PERL Java R MATLAB SQL NoSQL Pig etc
