Description, duties, responsibilities
General. The Assembly Technician Level 2 is responsible for assembly and production of aerospace LED exterior lighting for Talon Aerospace Hoover Alabama. This includes production units test equipment as well as R&D prototypes. The Assembly Technician Level 2 will assemble the products to design specification by using assembly instructions drawings and other relevant documents and to the schedule set by management. The Assembly Technician Level 2 will troubleshoot product performance related issues for production output as well as customer returned products. The Assembly Technician Level 2 will perform acceptance testing of production output. The Assembly Technician Level 2 will perform soldering functions on electronics components as well as manufacturing of harnesses. The Assembly Technician Level 2 will receive inventory to stock issue stock to work orders and orders for repair piece parts as well as package and ship outbound shipments to customers and suppliers. The Assembly Technician Level 2 will help maintain a clean and organized work environment and provide input on continuous improvement of the production activities. The Assembly Technician Level 2 will be instrumental in setting up a repair station. Responsibility: Able to comprehend drawings and bills of materials. Assemble product in accordance with instructions and drawings. Complete all relevant paperwork. Perform final acceptance testing. Troubleshoot product performance issues on production and customer returned items. Clean package and label all completed production output and piece part orders from inventory and make ready for shipment. Receive inbound materials to stock issue stock to work order and piece part orders and ship product to customers and suppliers. Maintain a clean work environment. Understanding of ESD and use ESD protection during all production steps requiring it. Understand the QMS at Talon and provide input on continuous improvement projects throughout the production area. Provide training and oversight to Assembly Technician Level 1 staff. Education and Training. High School diploma or GED required. Working knowledge of electronics. 4 years job related experience in assembly or production environment preferred Aerospace industry. Soldering experience J-STD-001 required. Team player. Organized and detail oriented. Performance Driven.
