AP Mechanic job at Signature Flight Support in Teterboro NJ
Description, duties, responsibilities
2nd shift Monday - Friday from 3:30pm-12:00am
Perform scheduled, unscheduled or special inspections in compliance with regulatory authorities and industry standards.
Troubleshoot and perform maintenance and repairs on aircraft, engines and a variety of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic components and accessories such as propellers, starters, generators, fuel pumps, hydraulic pumps, actuators, wheels, tires and brakes.
Troubleshoot and perform structural repairs to airframes, including sheet metal work, riveting, patching and fiberglass/composite work.
Perform system troubleshooting and operational and functional checks; service oil, fuel and hydraulic systems; provides nitrogen and oxygen servicing; inspect and repair pitot static systems and battery services.
Make required work order entries for discrepancies and corrective actions. Remove and install aircraft components. Install optional or added equipment to aircraft.
•High School diploma or equivalent
•Minimum of 18 years or older
•Minimum of 2-4 yrs. corporate aircraft experience preferred.
•Possess and maintain valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant License
•Acceptable vision may be required for inspector status.
•Excellent customer relation skills required.
•Strong communication skills required, both verbal and written.
•Knowledge of simple arithmetic.
•Possess and maintain valid state driver's license with driving record acceptable to Company policy
•Ability to perform service operations outside and in extreme temperatures and inclement weather.
•Requires frequent walking, stretching, bending, and climbing.
•Excellent vision and hearing required to detect problems and conduct inspections.
•Requires dexterity to manipulate hand and power tools
•Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
