SCANDINAVIAN AIRLINES - Duty Manager /Station Support - Newark Liberty International Airport Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) largest U.S. gateway is located at Newark Liberty International Airport . We are seeking an individual to join our small but dedicated Newark team as a Duty Manage r and Station Support for the US region . Interested candidates should possess a minimum of five years airline or ground handling airport experience . OVERALL ACCOUNTABILITY As a member of the SAS Newark Airport management team participate in the daily management operation of four (4) widebody international flights. The also includes providing support duties for SAS at other SAS U.S. gateway airports (BOS IAD MIA LAX . ORD and SFO). - Valid U.S. work authorization visa green card or be a U . S . Passport holder (this authorization requirement must exist prior to submission of appl ication for this ) - Working knowledge of Windows Office programs (Word PowerPoint Excel Outlook) - Global Distribution System knowledge i.e. Amadeus Amadeus CM/FM - Demonstrate suitable knowledge of SMS and quality systems - S trong communication and interpersonal skills - Thorough knowledge and experience in International and or Domestic Flight Operations and related processes - Ability to build relationships at all levels e.g. authorities suppliers partners and colleagues - Possess s tress toler ance and ability to be flexible - High degree of flexibility regarding working time availability. - Team player and ability to work independently - High personal drive and focus on execution - Proactive and self-driven with a positive mind set - Ability to travel to other SAS U.S. gateway airports within short notice SPECIFIC AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY - Execute and secure a safe and efficient Airport Operation in accordance with the SAS Ground Operations Manual as well as adhering to all local regulations - Maintain and ensure compliance with SAS CBP FAA TSA and local authorit y security procedures - Establish and maintain productive relationships with local authorities handling agents other airlines and other SAS units. - Ensure that set standards and KPIs are met on administrative financial and operational levels - Supervise follow up and adjust the performance of the handling agents and other suppliers so their performance me e t s and established s tandards - Report deviations initiate and implement corrective actions as required DAILY FUNCTIONS - Ensure : Safety Punctuality and Care during aircraft turn-around - Monitor and secure a safe an efficient ramp handling in accordance with company instructions and local regulations - Maintain highest proper security and safety for passengers staff baggage cargo mail as well as for SAS equipment and property - Adhere to and maintain close cooperation and dialogue with CBP FAA TSA Airport Authority and other authorities to secure highest possible security Besides being a team player and demonstrating professional c ommitment we expect the successful candidate to live up to other elements of the SAS role model for managers and employees especially those under the themes Do things right Engage people / Engage yourself and Think forward .
