POSITION SUMMARYSafran Aerospace Composites is dedicated to the production of 3D woven composite parts made using the RTM (resin transfer molding) process. The first application of this technology is the production of blades and fan cases for the LEAP engine developed by CFM International designed to power the next generation of single-aisle aircraft: therefore we make our employees proud. Our Quality Department focuses on auditing calibrating data-mining and problem-solving of process and products. As the Quality Specialist you will interact regularly with Manufacturing Engineering and Customers to establish document evaluate and disposition product and process performance in accordance with AS9100 internal and customer requirements. This position reports directly to the Quality Manager is open immediately and offers a highly competitive salary.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to age race color ethnicity religion sex sexual orientation gender identity national origin disability veteran status genetic data or other legally protected characteristics under applicable state or federal laws.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Essential Functions)Lead the deployment of customer and internal guidelinesLead and participate in Root Cause Corrective ActivitiesResponsible for the management and reduction of non-conformities on one or more Product linesResponsible for the management and reduction of reworks on one or more Product linesUse appropriate tools to analyze data make sense of it and recommend process improvements to the Quality Manufacturing and Engineering departmentsGather materials for periodic testingIndependently perform lab testing to established tests procedures in line with laboratory standardsWrite and distribute test reportsEnsure Document Control by reviewing and releasing procedures and formsParticipate in the Change Management Process and review and approve corresponding documentation (Work Instruction Form 9)Maintain and improve the Quality Alert ProcessSupport the Archiving ProcessSupport the Calibration ProcessPrepare and present reports internally and to the customer on process and product status and improvement activitiesConduct appropriate Operator QMS product and process auditsOther duties as assignedJOB SPECIFICATIONSBachelors degree in appropriate science engineering or engineering technology field; or 3+ years of manufacturing experience as a manufacturing engineer; or equivalent combination of education and experience requiredExperience with lean manufacturing and/or 6 Sigma techniquesExperience in leading DMAIC FMEA R&R 8D and analyzing resultsProficiency in Business Intelligence tools PowerB1 in particularProficiency in Microsoft Excel PowerPointExtensive experience with AS9100 or ISO9001 implementation and auditingWorking knowledge of MSA techniquesExcellent oral and written communication skillsPHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
