<p>Airport Maintenance Technician 1 (AMT 1)Roanoke VA USA18.78 per year Depending on experience and qualificationsHourlyFull TimeAre you ready to take your skills to new heights? The Roanoke Regional Airport Commission is looking for a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our team as an Airport Maintenance Technician. Pay will be based on your skills experience and qualifications. This is more than just a job-its an opportunity to play a critical role in ensuring the safety functionality and smooth operations of our airport.What Youll Do: As an Airport Maintenance Technician youll tackle a variety of important tasks that keep our airport running smoothly. Your responsibilities will include:Grounds Maintenance: Mowing landscaping planting pruning mulching weeding and maintaining fences.Paved Areas: Sweeping repairing and ensuring the safety of all paved surfaces including airport runwaysEquipment Operation: Operating fueling and cleaning trucks tractors and other powered tools.Weather Response: Removing snow and ice during winter conditions.This position is primarily on the Airfield Maintenance team however you will be cross-trained on some facilities maintenance to include:Building Repairs: Plumbing painting carpentry masonry and other facility maintenance tasks.Airfield Systems: Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical electrical and lighting systems as well as security gates and passenger loading bridges.This job involves working outdoors in all types of weather. This position is a day shift role but does requires one week of evening shifts and one weekend rotation every 7-8 weeks. The rotation is shared among the team ensuring coverage while keeping the schedule fair and predictable.What Were Looking For: To succeed in this role you should have:A High School diploma or equivalent.Hands-on experience in landscaping groundskeeping pavement maintenance or similar.
