160812BRJob Description: Job Description: Space and Airborne Systems Systems Engineering Center (SEC) has a leadership need for a Section Manager (SM) to support the Surveillance RADAR Development (SRD) and Special Mission Aircraft (SMA) Department. This SM will lead the Advanced Systems Integration Section supporting both SRD and SMA programs and pursuits. The position will be based out of North Texas (McKinney Dallas or Plano Parkway) and will support programs from each of these locations. This section includes: Integrated Product Team Leads; Lead Systems Engineers; Lab Managers; and Systems Engineering Individual Contributors supporting component/box-level subsystem-level and platform-level integration and testing activities. The SM will work closely with their team other functional managers and senior management to ensure SEC provides high-quality support to all customers.Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:- Overall management of respective Engineering section. This includes management of approximately 10-20 employees and their performance on programs and pursuits supported by the Section- Mentoring employees and performing career path planning.- Holding and documenting performance discussions and career development discussions for all employees in section including both technical growth and leadership/soft-skills development.- Proactively developing maintaining and executing staffing and development plans for section members which are aligned to roadmaps and projected program needs.- Overall quality of engineering work products generated by Section members ensuring they are generated and documented utilizing robust design principles and rigorous engineering practices in accordance with SAS Management System (MS) policies and work instructions (as tailored by the programs).- Accurate scope and cost estimation creation/support/review tied to proposals and EACs- Collection analysis and reporting of metrics where applicable and collection of other pertinent historical data.- Ensuring section members are best equipped to perform their assignments by providing mentoring guidance and training opportunities.- Workforce planning to include forecasting needs drafting and submitting job requisitions interviewing and hiring job candidates onboarding new employees and staffing programsUS Citizenship required as the selected candidate will need a US security clearance day one of employmentRequired Skills: Minimum of 10 years of professional engineering experience in the aerospace/defense industryStrong understanding of Surveillance Radar Development Integration and TestingStrong understanding of Special Mission Aircraft Intelligence Surveillance Target Acquisition and Reconnaissance Integration and TestingProven experience as a supervisor manager or leader of engineers and/or suppliersExperience with Cross-Functional Teams or Integrated Product TeamsUS Citizenship required Current secret clearance required day one of employmentDesired Skills:Engineering Domain KnowledgeTechnical and Team LeadershipInfluential Communications and NegotiationsTeaching and MentoringProcess knowledge of IPDS and SAS Management SystemTeam Building ExperienceExperienced with Proposal Preparation and Cost EstimationEarned Value Management System knowledgeExperience with 6Sigma Agile and DevOpsEX/IM Policy KnowledgeRequired Education: Bachelor of Science in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) from an accredited institution.Desired Education Master of Science in Systems Engineering from an accredited institution.This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.Business Unit Profile: Raytheon Intelligence and Space delivers the disruptive technologies our customers need to succeed in any domain against any challenge.
