Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Senior Principal Health and Safety Engineer to join our team of qualified diverse individuals. This position will be located at the Manned Aircraft Design Center of Excellence in Melbourne Florida. The Senior Principal Health and Safety Engineer will play a lead role in the execution of various elements of the sites health and safety management system. The position will contribute to maintaining a safety culture aimed at eliminating hazards reducing injuries and illnesses and the continuous improvement of our processes. This position requires the individual to work closely and positively interact with a variety of different disciplines in an engineering and manufacturing design setting. To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each of the following essential functions: Identify design and implement creative programs solutions and communication tools. Audit and inspect facilities for compliance with company safety policies and applicable regulations and develop practices to ensure that everyone from the shop floor to management is engaged in creating and maintaining a safer workplace. Conducts qualitative and quantitative hazard assessments to include exposure monitoring for physical and chemical agents Completes industrial and office ergonomic evaluations to reduce risk factors that cause musculoskeletal disorders. Support the sites environmental safety and fire protection programs Advise management of accident prevention measures through continuous review of conditions and behaviors and participate in designing improvements and solutions. Design and present training programs to associates addressing relevant safety and health issues in order to reduce injuries and illnesses and maintain compliance with applicable regulations. Support managers and supervisors with accident response investigation and root cause analysis and be part of any solutions and improvements. Ensure team members have access to have been property trained on and properly use appropriate safety equipment. Prioritize resources and demonstrate effective time management to accomplish a broad spectrum of activities in a complex environment. Adhere to established company values practices policies and procedures at all times. The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations significantly diverse assignments collaborative/team settings across all levels. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree Science Technology Engineering or Math (STEM) in occupational safety and health industrial hygiene environmental science or a related field and a Minimum of 9 years of experience in a Health and Safety implementing initiatives in a manufacturing environment Must have a thorough knowledge of OSHA NIOSH ANSI NEC and NFPA regulations and standards Must have excellent communication and collaboration skills with all levels of an organization Must have the ability to solve complex problems by actively seeking information and new ideas from a variety of sources; consistently looking for novel ways to solve problems; mastering unfamiliar information tasks and situations quickly and effectively Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Security Clearance Preferred Qualifications: Two years of experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment CIH or CSP Experience with Microsoft SharePoint programs.Salary Range: $100K -- $150K Minimum QualificationEnvironmental Engineering.
