Description, duties, responsibilities
Main accountabilities include:
+ Must be able to clearly communicate human resources policies procedures laws and company programs.
+ Responsible for taking an active role in employee engagement career development and retention
+ Provides internal customer service to management and employees for day to day needs
+ Provide confidential support to the HR Training Recruitment Management and Supervisors.
+ Works with the local HR team and any temporary staff to ensure that all related deliverable items are handled and executed on time.
+ Responsible for Maintaining employee files and Policy to the standards required by the Menzies 8 Pillar Audit program.
+ Responsible for ensuring Human Resources compliance to federal state and City laws and ordinances.
+ Support the management team in arranging and documenting all communications to employees.
+ Leads the investigatory process and completes required reports relating to employee concerns and breach/violation of company policies.
+ Provides guidance and direction to local management on Employee relations and employee relations matters.
+ Oversees and process all new hires terminations changes to hours and salary or job title changes complete necessary paperwork update employee database and issue employment contracts.
+ Responsible for supporting recruitment on boarding related activities uniforms pass application process and other related HR requirements and activities.
+ Ensure the smooth flow of processes to increase service delivery and value.
+ Coordinates with the third party consultant and internal management on all work-related claims in accordance with WSIB legislation; compile analyse interpret and report accidents and injuries in the workplace; liaison with third party vendor to ensure workers return to work minimizing lost time.
+ Responsible for managing the Leaves process as per Government and Workers Compensation standards. Managing the Return to work process by working with Corporate WC and local management team.
+ Issue and maintain required reports when required
+ Other duties and assignments as required
Qualifications and Experience:
+ Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent PHR Certification or working toward same
+ 2 to 3 years’ progressive experience in HR Generalist role preferred.
+ Experienced in Colorado and Federal employment law required
+ Hands on self-starter able to work using initiative and without supervision
+ Excellent organizational planning and administrative skills and a good eye for detail
+ Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with people at different levels and from different geographical and ethnic cultures
+ Excellent communication skills in the English language both verbal and written
+ Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Packages/UltiPro/Outlook
+ Track record in employee engagement and retention required
+ Must be a team player and flexible
+ Must be able to obtain and maintain all required security clearances
+ When required must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
+ Must be able to travel to other locations and work extended hours if needed and different shifts when the need arises

Bachelors or better
Licenses and Certifications
Experienced in Colorado and Federal employment law
2-3 years: Progressive experience in HR Generalist role
