<p>Aircraft Mechanic II (General Mechanic)Specialty: Airframes / Structures / Powerplants / AvionicsLocation: Dyess AFB 7th MXG TX Employment Type: Full-Time | Clearance: Secret | CAC requiredProvides support of Organizational Intermediate and Depot (OID) level maintenance functions to facilitate comprehensive aviation maintenance in support of B-1B maintenance at Dyess AFB in accordance with the Air Force Aviation Maintenance Programs applicable technical data and federal contract requirements.Mid-level aircraft mechanic supporting B-1B OID maintenance operations.Essential Functions800 hour 400 hour and 200 hour Phase Inspections; Hourly Post Flight Inspections (HPOs); Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTO); one time inspection (OTI) and time change item (TCI) replacement.Scheduled and unscheduled maintenance including repair of delayed discrepancies on the B-1 aircrafts structural avionics hydraulic electrical and propulsion flight control landing gear systemsInstall Depot-level TCTOs T1 and T2 ModsInspect and repair structural components both on and off the aircraft utilizing metal plastic and advanced composite materials within the scope and qualificationAircraft wash and corrosion control operations on the B-1 aircrafts structural avionics hydraulic electrical and propulsion systems.Provide flight line operations support including aircraft tows pre/post-flights aircraft servicing engine runs and flight line supportCompliance with applicable aircraft technical data (Work Cards Job Guides Technical Orders etc. …) and/or other pertinent instructions such as but not limited to Engineering Technical Assistance Requests (ETARs) and local MXG instructionsCorrect utilization of all applicable technical documentation in the performance of all tasks and document discrepancies identified parts ordered and maintenance tasks completed in Integrated Maintenance Data System (IMDS).Troubleshoot remove/install and transport to/from aircraft as required classified Line Replaceable Units (LRUs)/components IAW established procedures.DutiesPerform complex aircraft maintenance inspections troubleshooting repair and modificationDocument maintenance actions in aircraft logs and approved maintenance systemsMay lead and provide technical guidance to lower-level mechanicsEnsure compliance with Tool Control FOD safety and quality programsPerform and inspect airframe flight control hydraulic pneumatic and landing gear systems maintenanceInterpret technical manuals drawings and directivesTroubleshoot and repair aircraft systemsDocument maintenance actions per Air Force requirementsPerform other duties as assignedQualificationsFAA A&P certificate or military equivalent 3–5 years experience ability to perform depot-level maintenance completion of military aircraft familiarization training.4+ years B-1B or similar aircraft maintenance experience preferred.Must be able to work day swing or mid shift as requiredSecret clearance requiredPhysical RequirementsMust be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation including lifting up to 50 lbs. standing and walking for extended periods bending kneeling climbing and working in confined or elevated spaces. Requires sufficient manual dexterity and vision to use tools and inspect aircraft systems. Must be able to work in high-noise environments wear required PPE and work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.Compensation$40.67/hourBenefits:Employees are offered medical dental vision and basic life insurance. Employees can enroll in KAIs 401k plan. Employees who opt out of group health insurance receive $1.50/hour paid up to 40 hours per week. Employees have a minimum of eleven paid holidays.
