Job DescriptionBuyer/Planner Aerospace Buyer/Planner - AerospaceLocation: New Haven CTCompensation: $62000 to $72000Description: Our client a growing aerospace components manufacturer in the New Haven CT area is looking for a Buyer/Planner to assist on one of their production lines. In this role you will both plan and buy upcoming raw material and component needed for production. This role is a stepping stone for growth in this organization and their ideal candidate is someone that is willing to roll up their sleeves and wear multiple hats to ensure the job is accomplished. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform.Responsible for the timely release of work orders to the shop floor to meet customer requirementsGenerates load verses capacity reports at the start of each month for shop floor loadingReview capacity planning and material requirementsManage and control MRB reviews if requiredUnderstand and control predetermined inventory targets for each month and maintain those targetsPerform inventory transaction from the shop floor to maintain inventory integritySupply all necessary data on Visual data entry forms specific to planningResponsible for ordering and maintaining control of all shop floor supplies and floor stock materials.Coordinate any activity that affects stock sweeps due to material issuesInteraction with supervisors production managers and business unit managers on material status and production planning issues.Responsible for interaction with Contract Administrators for material availability on new orders.Manage aged work order reports and work order integrity on the shop floorDemonstrate proficiency with MS Software packages including but not limited to Excel PowerPoint and Word.Ensure departmental compliance to all quality / operating policies procedures and standardsMaintain the supplier baseParticipate in training as required.Must be a US Person as defined by US Govt. and able to work without restriction with ITAR related dataAble to travel domestic and international up to 25% (Visit suppliers primarily domestically) Education and Experience:Bachelors degree in any related discipline required (Prefer Supply Chain Business or other financial related discipline).At least 5 - 10 years experience in international purchasing and/or procurement experience preferredExperience identifying and sourcing materials based on blueprints and other technical documents.Experience utilizing ERP software - Visual a plus Job Knowledge Skills and Abilities:Thorough knowledge of contract negotiation project management purchasing and supply chain management.Excellent verbal written communication skillsAbility to set priorities to meet internal and external customer demands.Must be highly organized a self-starter and able to work independently.Must be able to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. Physical Demands:Regularly required to sit stand and walk for extended periods of time.Must be able to lift push or pull up to 20 lbs. Work Environment:Work in an office and manufacturing environment.
