Houston Aviation Center has been in business at its current Sugar Land location for 22 years, and is highly regarded in the general aviation industry. Our location provides easy access to numerous major highways and thoroughfares, retail stores, restaurants, health care services, and housing options, and close proximity to the greater Houston area. Specializing in general aviation, our customer base consists of single and twin engine prop, turbo prop and light jet aircraft from Cirrus, Beechcraft, Cessna, Mooney, Piper and more, providing routine scheduled maintenance, repairs, phase and annual inspections, and pre-purchase evaluations, as well as unscheduled and emergency repairs. As a Cirrus Aircraft Authorized Service Center, we provide warranty services for all models, as well as CAPS parachute replacements.
Job Description
Full time positions available for experienced general aviation airframe and powerplant mechanics. Part time positions available for current aviation maintenance school students awaiting scheduled FAA exams, full time trainee positions for recent graduates possessing temporary certificates, or FAA Certified Airframe and Powerplant Mechanics with no piston aircraft experience.
REQUIREMENTS :
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic's Certificate in good standing, or temporary certificate.
- For experienced A&Ps, prefer at least 2 years of recent airframe and power plant employment history on various piston aircraft.
- Continental IO550 and TSIO550 experience a definite plus.
- Professional, friendly demeanor, possess good teamwork skills, communicate well with customers, management and staff.
- Ability to read and use maintenance manuals, parts catalogs, schematics, SBs and ADs in order to troubleshoot effectively and perform work assignments efficiently and within estimated and budgeted time.
- Capability to meet or exceed high quality work standards and expectations in a manufacturer service center environment.
- General computer and internet skills.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Able and willing to work in the elements.
- Must pass an initial required drug screening and participate in random company drug and alcohol screening program.
- Must have personal set of tools specific to the trade (or the ability to obtain within 30 days of employment).
- Successful completion of company paid internet-based maintenance course at onset of employment (to be conducted on site).
