Flight Paramedic

POSITION SUMMARY

Fusion Cell invites you to explore an outstanding opportunity as a critical care transport paramedic. The company is a premier emergency medical air transportation company known for its clinical excellence superior aviation program and reliable response in providing care to critically ill and injured patients. They operate three fixed wing airplanes out of its base location base for both regional and long-distance interfacility transports.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitors patient condition during air transport to provide optimal stabilization using advanced skills and a critical level of expertise including mechanical ventilation ECMO balloon pump ventricular assist devices and advanced monitoring
• Provide advanced critical care life support to critically ill or injured patients in adherence with established protocols and standards of care
• Ensures that patient care environment equipment and supplies are available clean and functioning appropriately
• Works collaboratively with and under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse to provide for the delivery of patient care through the use of the nursing process
• Provides customer service to patients families and staff
• Assesses nature and extent of illness or injury to prioritize medical procedures or the need for assistance
• Restores and stabilizes heart rhythm on pulseless non-breathing patients as directed by a physician
• Monitors cardiac patients using electrocardiographs
• Initiates intravenous fluids
• Performs drug calculations and administers injections of medications
• Monitors drips colloids and blood products initiated by RN or transferring facility
• Gives initial treatment at emergency scenes
• Assures the plan of care is implemented monitoring and evaluating patient responses monitoring and evaluating responsibilities shared with appropriate caregivers
• Great attention to detail for safety of the aircraft crew and patient before during and after flight
  

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Current NRP Paramedic License from an accredited program
• Assessing the condition of patients
• Administering injections IV drips and medications to patients
• Communicating with RNs PAs FNPs and on-call physicians during emergency patient treatments
• Performing a variety of specialized medical procedures such as general anesthetics paralytics intubation and the management of ventilators
• Perform resuscitation actions
• Read and interpret an ECG reading
• Managing cardiac conditions like arrhythmia and cardiac arrest
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification
• Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support certification
• Certified Critical Care Paramedic (CCP-C)
