This opportunity is located within our Ensign-Bickford Aerospace and Defense Company business a global leader of mission-critical hardware and systems solutions including precision energetics systems and innovative explosive solutions.
Job Description
The candidate will be responsible for the calibration of EBADs gauges and for providing backup to the Receiving Inspection area. The role is expected to spend 70% of a typical week supporting calibration 30% supporting Receiving Inspection.
Responsibilities:
- Perform calibration on all gauges that are calibrated internally.
- Accurately record the results of those calibrations. Manage in flow of gauges to and from external calibration sources.
- Clean repair and calibrate using standards with have an unbroken chain of traceability to nationally accepted standards and a total summation of accuracy uncertainty with is in accordance with company and customer specifications.
- Develop new calibration procedures and revised existing procedures as needed.
- Communicate the status of gauges that require calibration.
- Support Receiving Inspection (RI) with the inspection of incoming parts and materials.
- Maintain accurate neat and complete inspection records
- Keep work area organized and clean and follow all established safety guidelines
- Work within a team structure to achieve company and department goals
- Perform additional duties related to specific area assignments when requested.
Requirements:
The successful candidate must have graduated from High School or earned an equivalent G.E.D. andhas 3+ years of experience with inspection of mechanical components in an aerospace or defense related company or related field.
Required experience includes:
- Capable of utilizing all standard inspection tools and equipment including calipers micrometers and drop indicators.
- Must be familiar with ISO/AS Quality System requirements.
- Must be able to read and interpret Geometric Dimension and Tolerance (GD&T) or to learn GD&T.
- Must have at least 3 years of experience working with Calibration tools.
- Must be able to read and understand military specifications and industry standards.
- Must be able to read and understand English.
- Must be able to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of management.
- Must have basic PC fundamentals knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential.
Desired skills:
Six Sigma Green Belt through ASQ CQE/CQM Certification program is a plus. Experience working directly with internal/external customers and suppliers.
Compensation:
Salary Range: $50000 - $80000 per year. Salary is determined by the applicants education experience knowledge skills abilities internal equity and alignment with market data.
