ECS is seeking an Aircraft Technician to work in our Lakeland Florida office.


Job Description:

Candidate will provide support for the Aircraft Maintenance Branch performed at the NOAA Aircraft Operations Center (AOC) in Lakeland Florida.

Functional Responsibilities:

  • The incumbent will assist aircraft mechanics and technicians in servicing repairing and overhauling aircraft and aircraft engines.
  • Adjusts and replaces parts including but not limited to tires batteries and filters.
  • Removes inspection plates floorboards and related items for access.
  • Assists in towing and jacking aircraft.
  • Disconnects instruments ignition systems fuel and oil lines.
  • Routine duties include furnishing materials tools and supplies to mechanic and lifting and holding items in place during maintenance operations.
  • Assists mechanics in both scheduled and unscheduled repairs and inspections.
  • Practices tool control and FOD awareness/prevention.
  • Due to the NOAA Hurricane Hunting mission support may be required at any time of day/night.


Required Skills:

  • Associates/FAA A&P
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance
  • Position Requires an FAA Airframe and Powerplant License.
  • Minimum of one year experience with maintenance of turbo-powered aircraft.
  • Working knowledge of tools and aircraft ground support equipment.
  • Able to read write and speak English language.
  • Able to qualify for and maintain a Lakeland Airport Access Badge.
  • Must be able to complete assignments independently using sound judgment in applying broad guidelines to specific cases.


Desired Skills:

  • Specific experience with the following aircraft: Lockheed WP-3D Orion Gulfstream IV-SP de Havilland Canada DHC-6-300 Twin Otter and Beechcraft King Air 350CER.
  • Knowledge of aircraft aircraft operations and/or prior government or military service is a plus.
