Job Description Summary:

Teach state approved courses in the Airframe and Power Plant Applied Technology programs. Teach assigned classes and laboratories according to the schedule. Teach assigned courses in a variety of times and locations in response to institutional need. Show students the actions necessary to perform a skill.

Climb and descend stairs in an aircraft on a weekly basis to instruct students. Assemble, build, calibrate, measure, fix, grind, torque or mend for practical, hands-on demonstrations.

Maintain a classroom environment that promotes teaching and learning. Make continuous efforts to advance the quality of instruction.

Develop and use a variety of teaching methods and materials to assist students who have differing educational and experiential backgrounds in meeting the course outcomes.

Maintain relevant relationships with the aviation industry. Maintain appropriate professional relationships with students, colleagues and the community.

Committee work and service to the college and community.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate’s degree in Aviation Maintenance from an accredited institution.

Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic Certification (A & P).

Three (3) years of related work experience.

Important: Certifications are required to be submitted at time of application.

Preferred Qualifications:

FAA Inspection Authorization.

Successful college teaching experience is preferred.

Experience teaching college level online courses and/or documented successful training in a college online learning management system (e.g. Blackboard, Canvas).
