<h5>Air Reserve Technician Aircraft Maintenance Unit Chief </h5><p>The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) Aircraft Maintenance Unit (AMU) Chief exercising technical and administrative supervision over subordinate supervisors and workers engaged in ground handling servicing inspection condition evaluation test and repair of assigned and transient aircraft in an integrated environment. To train reservists in the duties and responsibilities set forth herein. </p><p>Duties: </p><ul> <li>Performs work planning responsibilities. </li><li>Performs work direction responsibilities. </li><li>Performs administrative responsibilities. </li><li>Applies Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO)/Equal Opportunity Treatment (EOT) principles and requirements to all personnel management actions and decisions and ensures all personnel are treated in a manner free of discrimination. </li><li>Ensures education in compliance with and practice of security directives good safety and health habits in all work areas. </li><li>Reserve Training. </li></ul> <p>Requirements: </p><ul> <li>U.S. Citizenship Required </li><li>Males must be registered for Selective Service see www.sss.gov </li><li>A security clearance may be required </li><li>If authorized PCS will be paid IAW JTR and AF Regulations. If receiving an authorized PCS you may be subject to completing/signing a CONUS agreement. </li><li>This posn is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program </li><li>Position may be subject to random drug testing </li><li>Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours to include evenings weekends and/or holidays </li><li>Shift work and emergency overtime may be required </li><li>Employee must maintain current certifications </li><li>Must be a current member of the AF Reserve or willing/qualified to join </li><li>Advance in hire may be authorized if there is demonstrable proof provided on your resume </li><li>Recruitment Incentive may be authorized for this position </li><li>Relocation Incentive may be authorized for this position </li><li>Leave accrual may be authorized upon request </li><li>Direct Deposit: All federal employees are required to have direct deposit. </li><li>Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period. </li><li>Upon completion of your probationary/trial period your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification in writing that your continued employment advances the public interest. </li><li>AFSC: 2A5X0 </li></ul> <p>Qualifications: </p><p>In order to qualify you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C for WG-8800 - Aircraft Overhaul Family. QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-8800 - Aircraft Overhaul Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions you must meet any screen-out element listed and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience not necessarily the length of time. The screen out element for this position is the ability to lead or supervise as an Aircraft Overhaul Supervisor. JOB ELEMENTS: Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge skills abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: </p><ul> <li>Knowledge of a wide range of principles processes and techniques of trade(s) and/or craft(s) supervised. </li><li>Knowledge of personnel management policies practices and procedures including sexual harassment and Equal Employment Opportunity/ Equal Employment Treatment. </li><li>Knowledge of safety regulations practices and procedures. Knowledge in troubleshooting inspecting and/or tracing hard-to-locate defects or problems. </li><li>Knowledge in using and maintaining a variety of hand and power tools equipment and precision measuring and/or test equipment. </li><li>Ability to read and interpret blueprints diagrams sketches and technical specifications. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to plan and organize work to include determining resources required to accomplish mission. </li><li>Ability to manage overall direction and coordination of subordinate work activities and functions and implement sound personnel policies practices and procedures through subordinate supervisors. </li><li>Comprehensive knowledge of assigned weapon systems including airframes aircraft systems and the interrelationships among systems and aircraft power plants needed to make various operational checks and verify established performance limits. </li></ul> <p>Other significant facts: </p><ul> <li>This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. The incumbent is required to meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements. Work schedule will be aligned to allow incumbent to fully participate in Unit Training Assemblies (UTA). The incumbents regular assignments are ART duties; however the incumbent may be assigned some non-ART duties generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities. </li><li>May be required to fly in commercial and military aircraft to perform temporary/permanent duty assignments. </li><li>The work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate valid drivers license may be required for the position. </li><li>This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use. </li><li>This is a designated KEY position. The term "KEY" as it is used here relates to the ART program that defines the position as critical to mobilization capability (i.e. formulates determines or influences policies of the unit to which assigned) and has no relationship to the term "KEY" as defined in DoDD 1200.7. </li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned. </li><li>Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance </li></ul> <p>Functional requirements: </p><ul> <li>Moderate carrying (15-44 lbs.). </li><li>Reaching above shoulder. </li><li>Use of fingers. Both hands required. </li><li>Hours of walking are 4 hours per week. </li><li>Hours of standing are 10 hours per week. </li><li>Hours of repeated bending are 1 hour per week. </li><li>Climbing use of legs and arms. Both legs required. </li><li>Ability for rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously. </li><li>Near vision correctable at 13 inches to 16 inches to Jaeger 1 to 4. </li><li>Far vision correctable in one eye to 20/20 and 20/40 in the other. </li><li>Both eyes required. </li><li>Depth perception. </li><li>Ability to distinguish basic colors. </li><li>Hearing (with aid). </li></ul> <p>Environmental factors: </p><ul> <li>Outside and inside (other than normal commuting). </li><li>Excessive noise intermittent. </li><li>Electrical energy. </li><li>Slippery or uneven walking surface. </li><li>Working around machinery with moving parts. </li><li>Working closely with others. </li> </ul>
