Job Description:
Classic Air Medical is currently seeking qualified candidates for a full-time Fixed Wing Captains for Single Pilot Air Ambulance operations at our bases located in Arizona, Utah, Nevada, Colorado and Wyoming.
Successful candidates must be able to operate the aircraft safely, in all weather conditions, in accordance with applicable regulations, company policies and procedures, with minimal supervision. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively with the Chief Pilot, Director of Operations, and the Crews and Flight Coordination department.
This position requires the applicant to possess excellent professional flying skills with emphasis on a strong single-pilot IFR capacity, the ability to handle periods of high workloads, and the ability to work closely with medical personnel throughout all phases of the mission.
This position offers an equal time on and time off schedule, with company provided crew housing while on shift. Competitive compensation, with group health, dental, and vision benefits available.
First year compensation range:
$115,000 to $134,000, based on previous experience and willingness to relocate within 30 minutes of the assigned base (with one time relocation expense reimbursement up to $7500).
Minimum Requirements:
- 2500 Total Time
- 1000 Total PIC
- 500 Total Turbine PIC
- 500 Total Multi PIC
- 200 Night
- 300 Instrument
- 50 Pilatus PC-12
- 100 King Air 90/200
- The ability to obtain a Second-Class Medical
- Commercial Certificate with appropriate category and class ratings, Instrument Airplane, or
- Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with appropriate class ratings. (ATP within 5 years of hire)
- The ability to legally work in the United States
- The ability to pass criminal background check
Preferred Requirements:
- Previous Fixed-Wing Air Ambulance Experience
- No FAA violations or accidents
Fit for Duty Requirements:
- Two-mile walk in 30 minutes, even terrain, no running.
- Lift 75lbs to waist
- Backpack Carry 50 lbs up and down three flights of stairs
- Medical Screening assessment
Physical Requirements:
- Interact with others requiring the employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, and identify volume, tone, and quality of telecom signals.
- Support the weight of aviation and clinical equipment while transporting it. Push or pull portable equipment, including heavy items.
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items. Required to lift at least 50 lbs.
- May be expected to stand or sit in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
- Ascend and descend stairs to and from and off and on aircraft.
- Raise or lower an object from one level to another.
- Operate aviation equipment, tools, computers, and devices requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.
- See and read various monitors and documents.
- Transport oneself from place to place.
- Move around on hands and knees, including in small confined spaces within aircraft. Lower body by bending at the hips and the knees or to place body weight on one or both knees.
