The Deputy Chief Pilot Navy (DCPN) at ATAC is a pilot that oversees all pilot related training programs syllabi and scheduling for both ground and airborne instruction as well as all regional training for operations under the purview of ATAC. Will liaise with regional Directors of Operations and coordinate with the Director of Maintenance regarding support of flying activities in all theaters of performance.. The DCPN will report to the Chief Pilot ATAC (CPA) coordinate with the Director Flight Operations (DFO) Operations Training Manager (OTM) and Standards and Evaluation Officer (Stan/Eval) and will be required to support all Regional Directors of Operations (DO) and the Safety Manager (SM) for all activities related to Pilot operations in designated Areas of Responsibility (AOR). The DCPN will ensure all Navy operations are conducted IAW published standards and procedures. The DCPN will coordinate with the DOM and aircraft Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) for all pilot/aircraft related issues.. Review all Det LOIs and address issues as required. QC every daily schedule. Maintain pilot software accounts and APPS for the iPad. Ensure all sites update GPS software every 28 days. Analyze and investigate any new software or aviation aids for applicability in our operations. Maintain oversight of development of and updates for all aircraft flight manuals and pilot checklists. Maintain oversight of all pilot read files. Maintain oversight of all aircraft pilot training; monthly and new/recurrent. Maintain oversight of and changes to all standard pilot operating procedures. Track all pilot incidents and discuss individually with each pilot. Prepare and brief Pilot Review Board twice per year. Monitor all aircraft upgrade training. Oversee and update all functional check flight profiles and procedures. Review all aircraft upgrades alterations or modifications. Maintain Functional Check Flight currency. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:. Travel 50". Location: Newport News Virginia. Previous formal Pilot Training Experience. 10 years of prior Military Fighter Experience. Previous Supervisory/Management experience. BS/BA Degree required. Must maintain a security clearance. Clear written and verbal communications. Ability to Organize and write procedures in a logical/methodical manner.
