Description, duties, responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced Resident Project Representative to be responsible for onsite inspection/oversight of airport construction projects in Lake Placid NY. Projects focus on "horizontal work" such as runways taxiways aircraft parking aprons access roads electrical systems and navigation aids. Please note this position may require travel including overnight stays.

Working largely independently performs routine construction inspection services. May be responsible for review and assignment of work for Inspector(s).
Duties include taking and documenting detailed measurements for payment inspecting the work for compliance to the specifications quality acceptance testing notifying supervisor of issues and potential deviations from plans and specifications and working with the contractor to resolve minor issues without guidance.
Required Skills Experience Qualifications
+ This position requires knowledge of company standards FAA plans and specifications.
+ Qualified candidates will demonstrate familiarity and competence with various common job site conditions and be able to clearly communicate project requirements to a contractor.
+ You should have the ability to resolve day-to-day disputes with a contractor as well as have the experience required to know when to elevate an issue to their supervisor.
+ You will maintain detailed records of work and measurements and documentation for payment.
Qualified candidates must have:
+ Minimum 10 years related experience as a Resident Project Representative / Resident Engineer / Project Manager on FAA Airport Improvement Projects.
+ Knowledge of FAA DOT or related specifications/regulations/standards for civil aviation projects. Knowledge of APPIA and CAPX a plus.
+ Knowledge and experience with flexible and rigid pavements aggregate sub-bases and base courses storm drainage and airfield lighting systems.
+ NICET Level 111 or IV certification or successful completion Fundamentals/Engineering exam or equivalent.
+ Associates Degree (Bachelors Degree a plus)
+ Excellent personal interaction and communications skills.
+ Ability to build relationships with internal staff and external clients.
+ Analytical skills and problem solving capabilities.
+ Ability to travel and work both short and long term assignments onsite.
