Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is looking for a Sustainment Program Engineer (Senior or Lead) (Level 4 or 5) to join our team in El Segundo, California.

As a Sustainment Program Engineer, you will support the customer on maintaining and monitoring vehicle fleet in operations; Provide factory expertise and recommendations to the customer; Develop new operations to meet customers needs; Be a part of our passionate and highly-motivated team who are excited to be on the forefront of modern spaceflight.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Customer Interface for providing status/updates to cost, schedule and inputs based on customers Statement of Work

  • Manage team and staffing for sustainment program

  • Manage cost and budget for sustainment program

  • Support program director

  • Provide and review technical engineering factory recommendations to customer for fleet or vehicle operations

  • First responder for Support fleet issues or signatures (24/7)

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement 

  • 9+ years of experience working with Real-time Satellite or Space Systems Operations

  • Must be willing and able to be on call for 24/7 support

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 14+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience 

  • Program or Project Management experience

  • Cost Accounting Management experience

  • Root Cause Corrective Action experience

  • Team Leadership experience

  • Strong general System Engineering background
