Experienced F 18 Avionics Technician Featured

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite atNAS JRB New Orleans in Belle Chasse, Louisiana.

This position is eligible for a Stipend payment in addition to salary for eligible candidates.

Position Responsibilities:

• Assembles, disassembles and/or modifies systems by changing, removing, replacing or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes.
• Oversees assembly, disassembly or overhaul.
• Configures aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment.
• Troubleshoots complex hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components.
• Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components.
• Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications and inspection results).
• Inspects components and verifies repairs for flight worthiness requirements.
• Oversees training.
• Works under general direction.

Aircraft Electrician:

• Able to perform connector terminations including shielded wires, coaxial cables, and fiber optic wiring.
• Ability and understanding of routing instructions and handling of harnesses.
• Perform efforts associated with sealing, wrapping, bonding, tying, and closure of wire harnesses and cables in accordance with standard processes.
• Ability to troubleshoot avionics and electrical issues.
• Demonstrates the capability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, process specification, and retrofit requirements to perform electrical modification/repair as well as general avionics repair.
• Experienced in the use of tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot level modification and repair of electrical wiring.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start isrequired.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in military fighter aircraft maintenance

• Willing to work variable shifts; including days, evenings, nights and weekends

• Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in reading and interpreting technical publications and/or maintenance manuals

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Fighter Electrical modification experience
• Fighter Avionics modification experience
• Fighter weapons/Armament modification experience
• Must be able to work outdoors under all types of weather conditions (Humidity/High temperatures) with exposure to loud noise and exhaust fumes

Typical Education/ Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 4 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+2 years related work, Bachelor, etc.).

Summary pay range: $59,500 - $80,500
