Boeing Defence Australia is delivering some of the nations most important programs for Australian Defence.
As part of the Battlespace Communications System Team (BCS), you will help build, lead and support teams that design and produce next generation Military Communications Systems and contribute to the continued evolution of those capabilities to the Australian Defence Forces.

The opportunity
We are seeking a talented Production Leadto join BDA in growing the capabilities of the world leading communications and battle management systems.
BCS is a next generation networking product that is the centerpiece for multiple projects and campaigns. The BCS combines both developmental and off the shelf hardware and software to provide world leading communications capability for ADF personnel. It can be rapidly deployed from anywhere, and its modular design provides a flexible, scalable solution that can be customized for various mission needs.
Execution experience and talent to take on the development, delivery, and sustainment of BCS products and services is important, as is who you are and how you care for the people you work with. The role is based in Brisbane (QLD) - support for relocation from other locations will also be considered.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate production execution activities to meet production schedules and quality standards.
- Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
- Develop and implement process documentation, including work instructions, standard operating procedures, and process flow diagrams.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to resolve production issues and implement corrective actions.
- Provide regular reports on production performance and process improvements.
- Train and mentor production staff on best practices and process improvements.
- Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities to address production challenges.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Experience/Qualifications
- Technical qualifications in relevant field (e.g. Engineering, Manufacturing, Electronics etc.), or equivalent industry experience.
- Proven experience in production execution and process engineering.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficient in using engineering and manufacturing software tools.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
