The Boeing Company is looking for a Metrology Calibration Physical/Dimensional/Mechanical Technician to join our team in Huntington Beach, CA.
This occupation requires frequent interface with technical personnel in the collection, compilation, completion, and preparation of complex engineering reports, graphs, and charts. To assist engineering management in one or more of the following functions: planning, scheduling, forecasting, and budgeting activities.
Position Responsibilities:
Establish methods and assists in developing the procedures required to service, modify, and calibrate precision dimensional and optical alignment, physical, mechanical, hydro-mechanical and pneumatic measurement and test equipment and systems, and working standards by analyzing and interpreting product design and test equipment specifications, schematics, drawings, technical manuals, manufacturers service manuals, company procedures, bulletins, research papers, and written or verbal instructions
Perform service, modification, calibration, and certification operations, which require application of a thorough knowledge of metrology shop theory to maintain exacting tolerances, improvise, adapts, and setup test stands and calibration standards to test and calibrate test and measurement equipment, systems, and working standards. Provides information to develop, correct, or revise calibration and maintenance procedures
Maintain, modify, service, and calibrate any precision dimensional, optical alignment, measurement tools, instruments, physical, mechanical, hydro-mechanical and pneumatic measurement and test equipment and systems, and working standards such as liquid and gas flow meters requiring flow rate conversions and correction of data for the effects of viscosity, density, temperature coefficient, and air buoyancy; volume instruments on a mass basis (weighing) correcting data for air buoyancy and temperature coefficients; dissipation of gas conductivity as the principal of operation and which pressure devices requiring temperature, buoyancy, and static head corrections; and dynamic acceleration devices requiring data reduction
Use complex electrical and electro-mechanical system as a standard wave form distortion and noise analysis. Coordinate measuring machines, optical comparators, optical tooling, and thread ring gauges, surface tables, clinometers, and measuring microscopes. Proof calibration procedures and provides information to develop and improve procedures. Record calibration data and processing records. Obtain required certifications and licenses
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Customer support or customer service experience
Ability to lift, push and pull up to 35 pounds frequently within an 8 hour shift
1+ years of experience calibrating and/or using Measurement and Test Equipment (M & TE)
1+ years of experience with Microsoft Office Products like Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Familiarity with a calibration recall system
Precision metrology equipment lab training
Experience with on-site calibration services
Associate’s degree and/or equivalent trade school certificate and/or equivalent military experience
2+ years of experience with calibration of Physical, Mechanical and/or dimensional Measurement and Test Equipment (M & TE)
Ability to learn and perform calibrations of balances, calipers, indicators, scale bars using a laser measurement system, temperature, pressure, force, wire tools, etc.
Relocation:

Summary pay range: $24.00/hour - $45.46/hour
