The Opportunity -

Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) are seeking an experienced Senior ICT Network Engineer to join our growing team. You will play a vital role in enabling a world class maritime, intelligence, surveillance and response aircraft in the P-8A Poseidon. You will be joining a challenging and dynamic environment, supporting an aircraft platform that defends Australias interests.

The role located at RAAF Base Edinburgh, South Australia.

As a Senior ICT Network Engineer you will:

  • Integrate and enable new network design elements into existing network infrastructure
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise
  • Work closely with a broad government teams and other parties to enable solutions
  • Carry out analysis and investigations resolve issues and improve resiliency
  • Fault find and configure Satellite technologies, modems and other data comms technologies
  • Work within the bounds of aviation engineering standards and approved design

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • CCNA or equivalent certifications and or experience
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP,DNS, DHCP, etc)
  • Experience with routers, switches, firewalls and other networking technologies
  • Familiarisation of Windows and Linux environments
  • Knowledge basic scripting languages
  • Knowledge the Australian Information Security Manual (ISM)
  • Understanding of encryption technologies and standards
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills and the ability to clearly articulate complex security concepts to a broad and diverse audience
  • Understanding of the Defence Single Information Environment and Defence Networks is advantageous
