Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking Manufacturing Engineers to support the tactical fighter aircraft production of the F-15 Eagle, F/A-18 Super Hornet, and 777X Wing in the Saint Louis, MO. Region.
Position Responsibilities:
Develops and implements production and tooling methodologies.
Participates on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to integrate technical solutions across multiple disciplines. Develops, identifies and implements conceptual designs and maintains the program architecture for build.
Leads and implements manufacturing plans.
Conducts productibility and variation analyses to ensure that manufacturing process capability matches requirements.
Assists in providing productibility information for inclusion in project plans and helps document productibility best practices.
Analyzes design/build concepts to evaluate producible design/build definitions.
Resolves technical problems of significant impact to performance, cost or schedule.
Coordinates and implements new engineering principles, theories, advanced technologies and concepts.
Validates and ensures production readiness of solutions to complex problems.
Implements lean principles and technologies.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications:
3+ years’ engineering experience in a manufacturing or production role
Experience in Lean process implementation
ABET Accredited or equivalent B.S. or higher in Engineering, Math, Chemistry, Computer Science, or Physics
Preferred Qualifications:
B.S. or higher in Aerospace, Civil or Mechanical Engineering
Experience supporting defense and/or aerospace customers
Experience with 3D model based instruction
Experience with any of the following: IVT, CREO, CATIA, MES, Gold, PrimeR, Aurora, VisVSA, DELMIA, VisMockup, ProModel, FlexSim, 3D Printed Parts, Moonshine Shop, Maker Space, ImDev, ICIDO, Multi-Monitor Collaborative Rooms
Experience with Manufacturing Execution System Common Image (MESci)
Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
