Aviation Institute of Maintenance (AIM) - Our Company commenced operations in 1969 and the first aviation maintenance campus opened in 1992 in Norfolk, VA. All AIM schools are approved by the Federal Aviation Administration. Over the past 25 years, this group of schools has expanded to eleven campuses throughout the country in locations such as: Las Vegas, Nevada; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Kansas City, Missouri; Houston, Texas; Indianapolis, Indiana, and the metro areas of San Francisco, California; Orlando, Florida; Atlanta, Georgia; Dallas, Texas; Washington, DC; and Virginia Beach, Virginia, where our corporate offices are also located. We will be opening a new campus in Charlotte, NC the beginning of 2019.
At AIM, we are always looking for qualified and experienced individuals that can pass along their skills at our campuses to future Aviation Maintenance Technicians. We currently have an opening for a full time Campus Librarian at our Charlotte, NC campus.
This individual will ensure that the Library Resource Center (LRC) meets accreditation standards with the most current and accurate resources for students to further their education in their programs or fields of study. The librarian orients students to the library and continues to provide students with assistance for using a variety of media, books, magazines, computers, the Internet, and electronic online databases. The librarian at AIM is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating instructional workshops with the instructors so that students are familiar with using the physical and online library. The individual collaborates with coordinators to update and order new library resources. The ideal candidate will also have high energy and a sense of creative problem solving skills in order to promote the use of the Library Resource Center and its resources to students.
Qualifications, Education and/or Experiences:
- Accredited Master's Degree in Library or Information Science or a related advanced degree
- Prefer two years' experience in an academic library environment as a student, instructor, support services or other staff member
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including some evening hours
- Strong organizational skills and Computer Skills using MS Word, Excel, Outlook skills; prefer CampusVue experience.
