Maintenance Team Member
The Army Aviation Heritage Foundation and Flying Museum is a unique organization focused on presenting our flying aircraft to the public. The Foundation operates a variety of retired U.S. Army legacy aircraft, primarily flying Bell helicopter products with a fleet consisting of several UH-1 Huey and AH-1 Cobra aircraft. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining these aircraft to ensure their serviceability including inspecting aircraft and components to ensure compliance with our standard operating procedures and FAA approved inspection program and maintaining aircraft IAW with both military and civil maintenance/parts manuals. Typical duties include hands on maintenance responsibilities, directing and supervising non-licensed volunteers and employees, traveling with the aircraft to a variety of events, maintaining accurate historical records using automated databases, and performing scheduled aircraft inspections and phase work. Our typical hours of operation are Tuesday through Saturday.
Minimum requirements necessary for the role include:
- FAA licensed Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) mechanic in good standing.
- Significant rotary wing A & P experience.
- Huey and/or Cobra experience.
-Solid communication skills and ability to work well with other team members.
