JOB SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Technician - Airframe/Powerplant is directly responsible to the Maintenance Lead for the performance of the Aircraft Maintenance, Inspection, Repair or Alteration. The Maintenance Technician - Airframe/Powerplant is responsible to direct and coordinate work of technicians engaged in maintenance within the repair station.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Perform mechanical items on aircraft and related systems. This shall include, but not be limited to items such as removal and installation of panels and components, repair work and sheet metal repair or installation.
Troubleshooting and evaluation of systems on the aircraft when designated.
Inspection and evaluation of the aircraft and components when designated.
Work with technicians to ensure accurate and complete documentation of work performed in company task card packages.
Maintenance and repair of shop facility, equipment and tooling to support operations.
Work independently on projects and lead multiple projects as assigned. Schedule and work quality is essential in these functions.
Supervise team members in daily work and project management for completion of projects.
Confer with management to recommend modification of factors such as technician and equipment utilization, supervisory, and production methods, and procedures to better the efficiency of the department.
Make entries into maintenance logs & onto task cards.
Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

The Maintenance Technician - Airframe/Powerplant may delegate all duties assigned to any qualified assistant as necessary; however, such delegation does not relieve the Maintenance Lead of the overall responsibilities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Credential and Certificates - Current FAA A&P license in good standing
Education and/or Experience - Minimum of five years related aircraft maintenance experience, Associate degree in aircraft maintenance technology or other relevant field is preferred
Supervisory Responsibility - Assigned direct report employees
Training Requirements
Aviation experience on Bae146, AT802/Fireboss and Electra L-188

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITY TO:
Strong analytical skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Basic reading skills
Basic math skills
Use a personal computer and various software packages
Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision

WORK SCHEDULE
Full-Time - will require 24/7 availability and travel during fire season (May-October)
